This journey has begun for Hal, Dan and Janet, and John Paul! The Ottos and Dunaways are already waiting to meet them in Kampala.
Bags were all carefully weighed, loaded, and overflowing on top. As we pulled out of the driveway it began to rain - and it rained all but the last 10 minutes to the San Francisco airport! Would there be extra charges for the amount of water-weight soaked in to those bags??? Check-in went smoothly - no extra charges, no long lines - a great start for this journey.
As they begin this journey, as if starting their ascent from the bottom of a mountain, the Lord goes with them. This morning I read the 2nd Psalm of ascent, Psalm 121 - "I raise my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber ... "
