Workshops in Paicho

The Uganda team should be on their way to a good night's sleep right now in Gulu.  It's about 2:00 p.m. our time, so midnight their time.  The 10-hour time difference is probably becoming their new "normal" by now.  The journey by car/truck from Kampala to Gulu was "uneventful" by Uganda standards, but not without surprises and "near misses" by our standards.  It's not uncommon to find oneself driving in what suffices to be a shoulder of the road to avoid an oncoming bus or large truck - the biggest vehicle wins!  Praise the Lord for safety while they traveled.

Today, Wednesday, was a fun and full day.  The team traveled a short distance from Gulu to the community of Paicho.  They were welcomed by about 200 people!  Of those, there were probably 125 children and youth.  The team was prepared to do some teaching and to provide a variety of workshops - children's activities, evangelism, small business tips, work ethics, forgiveness, youth programs, and more.  They also spent time in prayer with each other.

It was a good day, but not without a few challenges you can be praying for: 

• some of the team are having a little trouble with the food settling on their stomachs - it can take a few days to adjust to new foods, environment, etc.
• The morning is usually spent gathering materials for installing wells.  Casing is needed to install the wells and is usually readily available in Gulu.  This morning they were unable to find any casing - please pray they will be able to find some in the morning.
