On Tuesday, the team was at Gulu Baptist Church in the
morning. Kelsey was walking through a
group of children and something caught her eye.
She spotted a shape on a child’s shirt that was so familiar.
Kelsey had a friend named Gen that she went to high school and
played sports with on the central coast of California. In 2010 Gen and a friend of hers named Bella
were killed in an automobile accident.
To support the girls’ families there were t-shirts and bumper stickers made
using a cross emblem with both girls’ names engraved within the cross. The day before Kelsey left to come to Uganda
she had visited the grave of Gen.
Today as Kelsey turned, she saw a cross on a child’s shirt that
she thought resembled Gen & Bella’s cross.
Kelsey walked toward the child and the cross came into greater
focus. It was the same shirt! It was amazing that this shirt, produced for
a few family and friends had now found it's way half way around the world. Kelsey shared for a few moments with the
child and marveled at how God directs our steps. God is the God who sees us! How did He pick today to remind Kelsey of her
friend Gen? What was God showing Kelsey
today about who He is? Are we willing to
listen and respond as God speaks to us?

This is amazing. We are so proud of Kelsey and the adventure God has her on in Uganda. Gen and Bella's death rocked the community and now God is using this to show His glory. He causes all things to work together for good...
