Getting Acquainted in Gulu

Gulu is a small town in the Northern part of Uganda.  As the day began, some showers worked, some didn't, some had hot water, some didn't.  One shower was fixed with the universal essential "don't-leave-home-without-it" tool:  duct tape!

Today Pastor Rich was introduced to a group of leaders and pastors before he began some teaching - a half-hour introduction no less!  It was a good time of connecting, with plenty of laughter too.  Then Hal and Pastor Rich found their way around to a market to purchase some beans and grain to make "posho" (boiled cornmeal), so the people in the village could feed everyone - people were gathering to welcome Dan and Janet, Mark and Reece, Joannie, Kelsey, and Garrison.  There is much excitment, especially amongst the children!  One thing seems to stand out to just about each team member - the people in Uganda are relationally strong.

A few ways to pray tonight for the beginning of their day:

A translator is needed for the children as the team members tell stories and talk with them.

Garrison will travel on the back of a "borda" (motor bike), with Martin to begin mapping the wells that have been installed. Pray for safety as they travel, and for the Lord's leading throughout their day. The hope is to map about 10 wells, but there are people they will meet along the way as well.
